bico was born in sao paulo, Brazil and moved to nyc to work as a photographer in 1981. in nyc he worked for major publications like gq, glamour, rolling stones, vanity fair, allure, cosmopolitan, w and many others. he also worked in europe for vogue, elle, marie claire, bazaar. in advertising he shot many campaigns in the us and europe winning a merit award from the art directors club of america working with famous art director fabien baron for new york woman magazine, award of excellence on a fashion campaign for ford beckman called the modern man, creativity award for a conde nast shoot for brides magazine and a silver award for warner brothers catalog one of the many like bloomingdales, lord&taylor, jcrew, ll.bean, eddie bauer, nordstrom, neiman marcus, target that he shot for. bico today travels between brazil his native land and the usa for work, lately he has spend a lot of time working in sao paulo shooting for local magazines and fashion brands including the totality of a playboy special issue and also a fashion campaign for a brazilian brand called flor, the first with an iphone4.
